Another Shakers and Makers event is behind us, and the Edmonton Grandmothers would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who helped to make this event happen.
The team planning and implementing this event was led by two very capable members of the GANG: Wendy B and Janice P. Thank you for your outstanding leadership.
Many GANG members, friends and family assisted with the sale. We could not have had the sale without our skilled crafters and bakers. And many others helped in a variety of ways: setting up and taking down displays; welcoming customers and providing directions; helping to load and unload vehicles; standing by the displays to answer questions about the products, the SLF and the GANG; serving hot drinks and muffins from the kitchen; and counting items and receiving payments. All involved helped us make this event an amazing success and demonstrated to the Edmonton community our commitment to fundraising and education on behalf of the Stephen Lewis Foundation.
A very special thank you to the many customers who attended our sale and supported our event. Your attendance allows the Edmonton grandmothers to continue to support grandmothers in Africa who are raising their children due to the AIDS pandemic.
The winner of our beautiful door prize draw was Julia B who was thrilled to hear the good news! Thanks also to Brenda L for her creativity and generosity in donating the quilt!
Finally we would like to thank CTV News for attending the event and helping us to share our message! You can view their new article here or catch this video clip.
